Two-factor authentication

  • Two-factor authentication

All students on all WVU campuses will be required to use two-factor authentication to access critical systems such as WVU Portal, MIX email and eCampus on Friday, Aug. 31. This mandatory security measure will help protect your academic, financial and personal information from misuse. Two-factor authentication is NOT for parents or guardians.

Enroll now by going to login.wvu.edu from a computer and clicking the MyLogin button. Follow the on-screen instructions and be ready to download the free Duo Mobile app on your phone. For more details, visit twofactor.wvu.eduIf you run into problems, call the Service Desk at 304-293-4444.

Once you enroll your phone in the program and it’s working, we strongly recommend you go back to login.wvu.edu and print 10 single-use codes. Store them in your wallet, and you’ll be able to log in if you forget your phone or your battery dies. This will also make it easier if you get a new phone.

The free app is recommended because it’s fast and easy, and most people carry their phones at all times. Those who prefer another option can purchase the Duo display token, which generates a one-time passcode at the push of a button, for $24.98. They’re available at both physical and online WVU Barnes & Noble bookstores.
