Pi Tau Sigma

The object of this organization shall be to encourage and recognize superior scholarship, to foster the high ideals of the engineering profession, to stimulate interest in departmental activities, to promote the mutual professional welfare of its members, and to develop in mechanical engineering students the attributes necessary for effective leadership and civic responsibilities. At the beginning of each academic semester, all West Virginia University Institute of Technology mechanical engineering students in the top twenty-five percent of their respective class with a grade point average of 3.25/4.0 or higher are eligible.

The purpose of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Golden Wings Aero Team shall be to provide West Virginia University Institute of Technology students with a hands-on engineering experience through the design, construction, and testing of an RC aircraft for the SAE Aero Design competition. The team serves to build students' strength within aerodynamics, materials, project management, and teamwork communication in the field of mechanical and aerospace engineering.

SAE Baja at WVU Tech

Students are tasked to design and build an off- road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain. Also, we compete in competitions all over the United States which involve racing, design, and marketing aspects.

Being a part of this organization allows nursing students to get involved on campus and make their nursing school experience fun, interesting, and interactive. SNA also participates in many community service events, which allows nursing students to easily obtain their 100 required community service hours.
